Citizens United, there is more and more opportunity for unregulated money in campaigns, especially with independent expenditures, and both parties are attempting to take advantage. Right now the focus is on
rich liberals and
"bundlers" (corporations and Wall Street execs who raise money by having their employees each give individual contributes of $5000 per election cycle).
Where does this leave the rest of us?
"There is no way I can go up against mighty corporations," said Laska Nygaard, 40, a stay-at-home mom in St. Paul, Minn., who gave Obama $75 in 2008. "It seems like a tsunami of money."
Personally, I think that this is a poorly timed use of the word "tsunami." However, the sentiment rings true, and it doesn't really make sense for candidates to be alienating their constituents.
