Arizona-style immigration reform in RI?

Here is a great post from RI Future on how many with a direct financial interest in the prison industry are backing the attempt by Rhode Island Tea Partiers to introduce Arizona style discriminatory immigration laws in RI.

This is a concrete example of the way profit-motivated private interests can attempt to influence legislation for their own gain and provides dispiriting support for the importance of removing the toxic impact of such donations and allowing the voices of the people to be heard.
